Broken tackle
A shoplifter in an Atlantic Avenue electronics store broke free from a security guard who attempted to tackle the thief, but looked more like the Giants, on Jan. 5.
The watchman in the Bruce Ratner-owned mall almost apprehended the quick-fingered crook, but the thief was like a Philadelphia Eagle, juking past the security guard and holding onto 70 DVDs from the shop between Fort Greene Place and South Portland Avenue at 6:40 pm.
Worse than fishy
Masked gunmen robbed a Washington Avenue fishmonger on Jan. 4.
The thieves, armed to the gills, burst into the wholesaler at 11 pm and demanded that the worker open the shop’s vault. They stole $4,000 and one of the villains hit the worker in the face with his gun before fleeing.
Double up
Partners in crime mugged a man on the corner of Washington Avenue and Adelphi Street on Jan. 5.
The victim, 36, said two sneaks creapt up behind him at 7:30 pm. One hooligan pinioned his arms and the other stole a pair of Ray–Ban glasses, an iPhone, a backpack and various credit and banking cards.
Door jam
Burglars pilfered some hot electronics from an Irving Place apartment on Jan. 5.
Two men, 20 and 22 share the apartment between Gates and Putnam avenues, and told police that neither was home from 10:45 am to 10:30 pm. When one of the roomies returned, the front door had been broken and two laptops and a computer model were stolen.
Hood-lam
A mugger yanked a woman’s jacket hood over her face, pinned her down and robbed her on Carlton Avenue on Jan. 7.
The victim, 30, told police that the villain stole her iPod and her purse, containing $60, at 6:20 pm between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues.
Nice cans
A man stole six sets of headphones from a national retailer on Flatbush Avenue on Jan. 3.
The shoplifter stole the high-priced hi-fi stuff at 4:30 pm and fled through the fire exit in the store in the Bruce Ratner-owned mall between Hanson Place and Atlantic Avenue.
