And still more thoughts from those scraps of paper that have been accumulating in my pockets:
I have a good idea. With so much outsourcing going on, why don’t the heavyweights in Detroit outsource the entire American car? Have it built in Japan but keep that a secret. I’m betting it will come back as a better vehicle.

GMAC Insurance tested 5,000 motorists on their knowledge of driving and the laws pertaining to hitting the highways. The company does this annually to find out which states are the worst. Well, guess what? Our fellow New Yorkers came in on top of the junk pile. We are A #1 − cream of the crap when it comes to being the worst behind the wheel. Such an honor. Everybody! Let’s form a line and march around the table, shouting in unison, “We’re number one! We’re number one!”

Here’s a very interesting quote. See if you know who said it. Hint: He’s not a Republican.
“There are very few people in this room or in America who would say that torture should never ever be used, particularly if thousands of American lives were at stake. If we knew that there was a nuclear bomb hidden in an American city and we believed that some kind of torture, very severe maybe, would give us a chance at finding that bomb before it went off, my guess is that most Americans and most Senators, maybe all, would say ‘DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!’”
If you knew, without looking it up, that it was said by Senator Charles Schumer, you can take what’s behind door #2 or choose to return next week for another round of questions.
I agree with the Senator, but I’m betting he’s sorry he said it.

Here we go again. An attractive, sixth grade schoolteacher down in the South Florida community of Hialeah was arrested for having you−know−what with a 15−year−old boy. No! This is not the same one you heard about a couple of months ago. This is a new one. That makes how many? What in the world is going on? One smoking hot great looking female teacher after another is having improper relations with teenage boys. Has this been always going on and we’re first learning about it now or is this a brand new liberated female rage? I’m also curious – for every one of these crazy situations that are exposed, how many are not? Anybody?

To those of you who have sympathy for the members of the UAW who have lost their jobs, I strongly suggest you Google the following question: Where would GM be without the UAW? Please read the two−year−old commentary by George Reisman which makes as much sense today as when he wrote it. Some of you will write to blame management and you will be correct. There is certainly a lot of blame to go around, but if you read the essay you will find that these poor working schnooks and their unions brought these consequences on themselves.
