Now that we’ve had a few weeks to digest some information about Governor Palin, the question that is running around the Internet is – Did Senator McCain make the right choice when he chose her to be his running mate? Results from the CNBC poll – 51% Yes, 37% No and 11% just don’t know. Results from Vote.Com – 85% Yes, 15% No! Results from the Bill O’Reilly poll – 91% Yes and only 9% No.
None of these polls really matter. The only poll that means anything is the one that the voters will take on Election Day.
As of this moment the only clear cut winner in the Palin polls is Italee Optics, the company that manufactures the fashionable $375 Kazuo Kawasaki eyeglasses worn by the good Governor. Sales of the specs have quadrupled and the manufacturer now has shifts working around the clock to keep up with the flood of back orders. Women may or may not vote for her but they sure love the look.

Here’s a travel tip I’d like to share with you. While most of us go out and buy new clothing for that next big trip, my roommate and I go through our closets and pull out some of our oldest, ready to give away duds. And that’s exactly what we did. As we traveled along I left the old jacket and shirt that I wore that day in the hotel closet. The folks that clean rooms are hardly the wealthiest people on the planet and I always feel that someone could make could use of what I leave behind. Another advantage besides this small charitable effort is that as we travel along we are making room in our suitcases for souvenirs and gifts. It’s win-win for everybody.

While I don’t necessarily agree with the people that run PETA, I find them very amusing. It seems as if they’re always looking for something entertaining to further their cause. Two months ago they ran naked somewhere. I would love to have been there to report on the event first hand….. with my camera of course. Last month they negotiated to buy space on billboards at the Mexican border for the purpose of showing obese Americans surrounded by the following warning in Spanish: “IF THE BORDER PATROL DOESN’T GET YOU, THE CHICKEN AND BURGERS WILL – GO VEGAN.” The PETA people want this to be read by potential illegal immigrants. “If they cross into the U.S. they are putting their health at risk by leaving behind a healthier, staple diet of corn tortillas, beans, rice, fruits, and vegetables.”
Lemme see, by a show of hands, how many of you think that Mexicans looking at the billboard will turn around and go home. Not one single hand up? Oh. Just a finger. Please use a different finger next time.
The following is PETA’s latest attempt at informing and/or entertaining the world. A letter was sent to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, the celebrated Ben and Jerry of the well-known ice cream. The correspondence urged Messers’ Cohen and Greenfield to use mother’s milk in their dairy products instead of the usual cow’s milk. Executive Vice President of PETA, Tracey Reiman, says that a move to manufacture with human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their calves on factory farms.
I was probably about a year old when I stopped drinking breast milk and I have no intentions of starting again. I know that the human product comes in containers that are prettier than those of the Holsteins but there are still a few questions that must be answered.
Are there enough lactating women around that are willing to go through the process of expressing and selling their milk to Ben and Jerry’s?
Has anyone ever tried making ice cream with human milk? How did it taste?
How would you feel about ordering a Momma’s Milk Cherry Garcia ice cream cone?
I am StanGershbein@Bellsouth.net asking – Is PETA serious?
