I recently received a letter from a reader who is an Obama fan. I told him that this is a great country. Anyone can vote for any candidate and he doesn’t have to give a reason. I added that I have many reasons for not giving the Senator my vote. If David Bowman is reading the paper today, here are some of them.
Senator Obama has promised to raise my taxes. Oh. I really LOVE paying taxes. Who doesn’t? I love this redistribution of wealth. I worked hard all my life and invested wisely. Redistributionist Barack Obama and his socialist friends want to take my fortune away and, in his own words, “spread the wealth around.” I want a president that is willing to drill for oil. I am well aware of the fact that America needs new sources of energy but in the meantime, until we find new, better and less expensive sources, we are dependent on oil. Barack Obama has turned thumbs down on this issue.
Everybody knows that no one person can run a school, a city, a successful corporation and no one person can run these United States. He can only be as good as those advisers who surround him. I do NOT trust Sen. Obama to choose his gurus wisely. Why do I say that? I say that because so far he has shown some very poor judgment.
Barack Obama exhibited poor judgment by attending a church where, for twenty years, he heard his anti-American spiritual adviser tell the congregation not to sing “God Bless America” but “God Damn America.” The Reverend Jeremiah Wright has a long history of what even Obama’s campaign aides concede is “inflammatory rhetoric” including the accusation that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own “terrorism”. Would you listen to anti-American crap for 20 years? I doubt it.
He again exhibited poor judgment by accepting campaign assistance from unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. More than enough has been written about this but no matter what – he is absolutely, undeniably guilty of poor judgment. He is also very guilty of using poor judgment by associating himself with communists and thieves. Space constraints keep me from talking about his dealings with Tony Rezko and Frank Marshall Davis.
I am a patriotic American but I must add, Israel is very important to me. I’ll fill you in on all of my reasons sometime in the future. Right now I want to point to a headline of an editorial published earlier this month in the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. In bold print it read, “Obama No Friend of Israel.” This is the headline from a far left wing, very liberal, pro-Democrat newspaper. Shocking? No. Just a reality.
Senator Obama wants compulsory Selective Service registration of all women between the ages of 18 to 25. I don’t.
I am legally licensed to carry a concealed weapon. It is very well documented that Barack Obama does not want me to carry a weapon. I know that you’ve heard it before but I’ll say it again anyway …”Out of my cold dead hand….”
While in the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama voted “Present” 130 times. One votes “Present” when he is too chicken to take a stand on a tough issue. He claims that some of those “Present” votes were because he was on the negative side of an issue. If he was on the negative side of a particular issue why didn’t he just vote “No”?
Barack Obama supports the vicious, hateful, very far left Daily Kos. That’s the same Daily Kos that wanted the late Tony Snow to die.
Barack Obama closed one of his Q&A sessions by saying that he wants to meet with the leadership of community organizers so that they can guide him in the direction they want this country to move. Community organizers? That’s ACORN, the organization that’s been all over the press for voter registration fraud. The Senator was an organizer for ACORN. He was an attorney for ACORN. He is heavily supported by…..He is instructed by …. And I have yet to see him really disassociate himself from ACORN the way he did his pastor, the old uncle who sometimes says ….yada, yada, yada.
And finally – I will not vote for Barack Obama because I do not want to see his bitter wife as my first lady. I am StanGershbein@Bellsouth.net knowing that all the polls have Senator McCain losing by a landslide. He will still get my vote.
