More than 800 illegal immigrants who were scheduled to be deported were granted U.S. citizenship by mistake, according to an Inspector General’s report — that is one beaut of a mistake, don’t you think?
These folks used false identities to successfully apply for citizenship, and they slipped through the cracks, because the Department of Homeland Security did not have their fingerprints on file.
Adding insult to injury — and pouring a whole lot of salt on an open wound — most of these people were from “special interest countries or neighboring countries with high rates of immigration fraud,” according to a Fox News account.
And Homeland Security is supposed to be keeping us safe?
Rampant liberals out there are offended by Donald Trump’s assertion not to let anyone in this country unless they are properly vetted. These brain trusts have accused his statements as racist, un-American, and following in the steps of Nazi Germany. They really need to get over themselves and their rhetoric.
If 9-11 didn’t teach us anything about our national security, then this should certainly be an eye-opening wake-up call for us to change how we do things.
The Inspector General’s report revealed that Federal databases were missing fingerprints for as many as 315,000 immigrants with final deportation orders or who are fugitive criminals.
We can proudly boast of a national security department that can’t keep track of it’s own staplers — let alone fingerprints of wanted criminals and illegal immigrants who were set to be deported. Some even landed airport security and law-enforcement jobs.
This “gap” in information was blamed on old paper work that had not been properly transferred to computer databases. And get this — the government knew about this “gap” as far back as 2008, according to the report. Eight years, and it still happened.
Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton insulted half the population by referring to Donald Trump supporters as “a basket of deplorables.”
This from a woman who can’t (or won’t) remember how many e-mails she canned and who, after a stint as Secretary of State, didn’t know that “C” stood for classified (I can’t even begin to explain that one).
Not for Nuthin,™ but I think Homeland Security’s failure to properly vet immigrants is deplorable, maybe Hillary should have added the department to her basket — or maybe she did but it got erased in one of those “C” e-mails.
