In honor of Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the announcement of African-American freedom from enslavement, the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement is throwing a Juneteenth Block Party in celebration of African-American people, culture, and community, June 21 from 12-8 p.m. on Macdonough Street between Lewis Avenue and Marcus Garvey Boulevard.
The day of musical and artistic performances, family entertainment, and speakers will discuss the importance of this historic day for people of African Descent.
