Budding David Wrights were the toast of the town – plus hailed with plaudits – during an awards ceremony presented by the Kings Bay Youth Organization.
The annual salute to young sports stars stepped off at the Kings Bay ballfield, Coyle Street and Voorhies Avenue, where a tribute program honored players, ages five through 12, in the Instructional, Challengers, Minors, Triple AAA and Majors divisions.
The group was presented with trophies by baseball Director Larry Umland for a successful season of play.
The organization began as the Kings Bay Boys Club in 1956, and offers football, baseball, roller hockey, soccer and basketball programs, serving more than 2,000 children each year.
