Ladies of Distinction

The Gotham Chapter of the Top Ladies of Distinction will be hosting its Area II Leadership Conference at the Hilton Long Island/Huntington Hotel, October 30-November 2.

The annual event, characterized by awards, speeches and recognition for outstanding service, will focus on “Strengthening Fundamental Pathways of Service and Leadership to Youth and Adults,” which is this year’s conference theme.

Activities will include workshops, a keynote address, a luncheon/fashion show, elegant evening banquet, an informative and educational field trip for the Area’s Top Teens of America (TTA) and the much anticipated Community Night.

Community Night, the highlight of the conference, is open to the public and will be held October 31 from 8-10 p.m. Recognition awards will be given to outstanding African-American Journalists in Media in the presence of local and surrounding area dignitaries and community leaders. A reception will immediately follow the awards ceremony.

Voices of Victory, St. John’s University Choir, under the able direction of Nigel Gretton, will provide entertainment that night.

Lady Dolores H. Chriss, National Area II Director envisions this event of the “small but mighty” area as a promise of hope for the area’s youth and adults.
