How unknowledgeable of Brooklyn’s plight is our City Planning Chairwoman Amanda Burden, from her tall seat above the other City Planners, where are all the real causes of Brooklyn homeowners’ vanishing gardens.
They sit on their planning haunches and do not realize the burdens that burden and her plotters plan, (on planners plot)
Back in 2001, on these pages I wrote, “Where did Brooklyn gardens go?”
We said then that the cause was the sudden surge of over-building. Marty Markowitz called a Bensonhurst public meeting about the overbuilders who were ripping down staid private two level row houses to over build each neighborhood with alleged luxury condos that rarely sell, and mostly do not give parking to buyers.
In particular, there is one condo that Ms. Burden approved at Bay Parkway and 65th Street has no inner parking and there is a ‘No Standing’ sign at its 65th Street side and ‘No Parking’ at its Bay Parkway side. How did anyone move in? Or did they?
The burdens of Brooklyn life with the errors of the same name, Amanda Burden, pilot of our City’sPlanners. They sit there looking at us as an outerborough and they do not care if over taxed homeowners who once watered their private gardens are now over assessed, because scalping builders overpaid to buy the once-private homes next door to us, in order to demolish it fora 60 family condo to drown out the sunshine forever, where Brooklyn’s flower beds once sat tall and proudly. We, the taxpayers are the prey of the high rise planners like Chairlady Amanda Burden, who now sits and balks at Brooklyn’s vanishing gardens and man made curbs, because home owners can’t find parking spots legally, at the curbs that were eroded forever by over burdening from Ms. Burden herself.
How did Amanda and her planning crew ever permit 60 family houses to replace 2 level private homes? Why do they not mandate 60 inner parking spots for the new 60 family condos? Why did Burden and her crews over burden once proud urban Brooklyn? What kind of assault does m’lady allude to as the headline read “City Sharpens Assault on Illegal Curb Cuts?
Some of our neighbors scour the area at night for an hour, seeking a spot so they can get inside to sleep; and on a rainy night, pedestrians are endangered by the autos scouring our streets, so they wont’ have to further burden Amanda Burden, the permissive planner, who plots over-building and lets tear down those unsalable condos that over built our Brooklyn.
