The Dyker Heights Civic Association is offering free classes in internet, website navigation, and email for all Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, and Bensonhurst seniors. Classes begin August 4 and will be held at PS 176− The Ovington School, 1225 Bay Ridge Avenue.

Participants must have basic computer skills to sign up for these classes, which will help them stay engaged in civics and government, and learn how to stay in touch with loved ones.

Seniors can choose between four Tuesday sessions, which run from 5−6:30p.m. or four Thursday sessions, from 4:30−6 p.m.

The registration deadline is July 30 and students will be selected on a first come first served basis. There will be a waiting list.

Councilman Vincent Gentile, state Senator Marty Golden and Dyker Heights Civic President Fran Vella−Marrone will present certificates of participation to the students and certificates of community service⁄civic achievement to the volunteer teachers at the next Dyker Heights Civic meeting at 8 p.m., September 8 at St. Philip’s Parish Hall, 80th Street and 11th Avenue.
