There’s more to love at Lenny and John’s Pizzeria now that it’s twice the size — and retro-licious.
The 42-year-old neighborhood staple on Flatbush Avenue between Avenue P and Quentin Road celebrated its expansion on Dec. 14 with half-price pizzas, a stream of well wishers, and high hopes for the transformation, which includes more seating, a wait staff, and brick, steel and granite accents to achieve an old-world look with a current feel, according to one of its owners.
“We tried to make it look like it’s been there a long time, but still keep it modern,” said Jimmy Scandiffio, who has owned and operated Lenny and John’s with his brother Danny since their father and uncle — the original Lenny and John — retired eight years ago.
There’s a whole lot of new, finger-lickin’ items on the menu, too, including assorted seafood, dinners, paninis and desserts.
Customers are keen to welcome a new age of Lenny and John’s on the avenue, according to the pizza man.
“Everybody has nothing but good things to say!” he said.
