Friends of Paul Rosa mourned his death last week by erecting a cross made out of candles on Montrose Avenue −− right where the 29−year−old was shot and killed.

Police said that Rosa, a resident of Stagg Walk, was exiting a club between Lorimer and Leonard streets at 2:20 a.m, on June 28 when an unidentified gunman opened fire.

Rosa was struck in the leg, but the gunshot was fatal, officials said. He died of his injuries a short time later at Woodhull Hospital.

Investigators were looking for the shooter as this paper went to press.

Mourners at the shrine said that Rosa was trying to break up an argument between two groups of people when he was shot. He may not have been the intended target, they said.

Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.
