Lots of break ins

Busy burglars

Crooks cracked cribs throughout Bay Ridge last week. Here’s a roundup:

• A thief pried open the door of a 73rd Street apartment and stole electronics on Aug. 3. The victim left the apartment, which is between Third and Fourth avenues, at 8 am and returned that afternoon to discover two laptops, a cell phone and both a still and video camera taken.

• That same day, a burglar lifted the window air-conditioning unit out of a Bay Ridge Avenue apartment and ransacked a woman’s bedroom. The sneak broke into the apartment, which is between Eighth and Ninth avenues, sometime between 8 am and 5:45 pm, and made off with more than $1,300 worth of jewelry and $120.

• A woman returned from a week-long vacation on Aug. 5 to find her Third Avenue apartment had been robbed. The crook took an iMac computer and a Nikon camera from the apartment, which is on the corner of 76th Street.

Rim job

A thief snatched the right wheels and tires from a car between 9 pm on Aug. 2 and the same time on Aug. 4.

The victim told cops that she had locked up her 2009 Honda Accord at the corner of Colonial Road and 73rd Street. The car was still locked upon her return, but the rims and rubber were gone.
