Close to home
Thugs mugged at least three women in front of their apartments this week. Here are the shocking details:
• An armed crook robbed a 19-year-old woman in front of her Scholes Street home on Oct. 2.
The gun-toting hoodlum grabbed the woman’s cellphone, school ID, and $50 at around 9:30 pm and fled from the block between Lorimer and Leonard streets.
• A crook pretending to carry a gun mugged a 29-year-old woman in front of her Humboldt Street home at around 11 pm on Oct. 2.
“Give me your stuff,” said the crook — who bluffed that he was packing heat by keeping his hand inside a plastic bag during the robbery.
The victim handed over her iPod, credit cards, IDs, sunglasses and Metrocard and the thief fled from the block between Flushing Avenue and Debevoise Street.
• A masked mugger shoved a South Sixth Street woman to the sidewalk in front of her home and snatched her purse on Oct 3
The thief pushed the 25-year-old victim to the ground at around 1 am and grabbed her bag, which contained credit cards, IDs, a Metrocard, and $100, before fleeing from the block between Dunham Place and Wythe Avenue.
Turf war
A Williamsburg jingoist slashed a Bushwick man across the face over a neighborhood squabble on Oct. 2.
The vicious villain struck at around 2:30 am while the victim was buying beer and chips from a bodega at the corner of Moore and Humboldt streets.
“Are you from here?” the crook asked.
“No, Bushwick,” the 32-year-old victim replied.
Unpleased with the response, the hoodlum grabbed the victim from behind and sliced him across the face from his eye to behind his ear, leaving the victim with an eight-inch gash.
Party foul
Raucous revelers pilfered a Kent Avenue home after the host of an Oct. 4 party fell asleep.
While the 24-year-old host napped between 5:30 am and 9:30 am, the partiers turned into perps, snatching an iPhone, an iPod, a Sony laptop, a Sony camera, and three watches from the apartment, which is between South Eighth and South Ninth streets.
The crooks were friends of a friend, according to cops.
“Be mindful of who you invite to parties,” said Police Officer Thomas Brown, whose precinct regularly receives reports of thefts at parties. “And when you go to a party, think about where you put your belongings and whether they’ll be safe.”
iPummeled
Three pugilists punched and kicked a 40-year-old man until he handed over his iPod on Oct. 1.
The crooks jumped the victim in the lobby of his McKibbin Street apartment at around 4:30 am, slugging him repeatedly in the face and shoulders.
The thieves grabbed the black iPod and fled from the building, which is at the corner of Bushwick Avenue and Seigel Street.
Rock, hard place
Cops nabbed a 47-year-old man suspected of stealing Sheetrock from a lumber shop on Oct. 3.
Witnesses observed the suspect enter the business — which is at the corner of Bogart Street and Johnson Avenue — through a security gate at around 12:35 am.
When cops arrived, they spotted the victim loading the rock onto a hand truck.
Knifepoint mug
A man and a woman robbed a 35-year-old of his cellphone and cash on Oct. 4.
The crooks pressed a knife to the victim at the corner of Ainslie and Keap streets at around 1:35 am, until he forked over his phone and $600.
