Neighborhood firefighters turned into emergency veterinarians last week after they rescued a litter of kittens from a burning garage on 17th Avenue last week.
FDNY officials said that the firefighters responded the a call of smoke coming from a back garage near 56th Street just after 10:30 am on July 1.
