The long arm of the law received a thankful pat on the back when Mothers Against Drunk Driving−Brooklyn Chapter held its annual NYPD awards luncheon at the Bay Ridge Manor.

Municipal crimefighters and fire brass were feted for “dedicating their lives to serving and protecting the public” and manning Drunk While Intoxicated checkpoints on “cold days and long nights” during the tribute at the catering facility, 476 76th Street.

The honorees were: Charles J Hynes, Kings County District Attorney;

Chief Michael Scagnelli, Chief of Transportation NYPD−NYC; Assistant Chief Joseph Fox, Patrol Borough Brooklyn South; Assistant Chief Gerald Nelson, Patrol Borough Brooklyn North; Captain Daniel G. Scouldis, commanding officer, Highway Patrol II; Captain Timothy Morgan, commanding officer, Highway Patrol I; Ilona Lubman PH.d., executive director, NYC−DOT, STOP DWI; Major Michael Kopy, NYSP troop commander, NYC; Battalion 42 Chief Martin P.
