Eye for an eye
Police arrested a 43-year-old who they say poured a caustic liquid into the eyes of a co-worker he accused of stealing during a Farragut Road fight on Nov. 19.
The victim was inside the factory near E. 48th Street at 7:30 am when the suspect came in, made his accusation, grabbed him by the neck and pinned him against the wall. He then allegedly splashed the unknown liquid into his victim’s face, leaving him with injuries that required hospitalization.
The suspect was arrested two days later, charged with assault.
Spending spree
Cops arrested a 25-year-old city Housing employee assigned to the Glenwood Houses in Flatlands on Nov. 14 after learning that he had allegedly made hundreds of dollars of purchases on a city debit card.
The 25-year-old suspect made $292 in purchases on the card, which police said was registered to the Glenwood Houses Community Center near Ralph Avenue.
Police said the suspect made the purchases — mostly small ones — between March, 2010 and earlier this month. The purchases included a pizza order that he had delivered to his home.
Cops arrested him for grand larceny after he tried to make larger purchases on the card last week.
Break-in boob
Cops say an 18-year-old broke into an E. 58th Street home on Nov. 17 — but was quickly arrested when a witness saw him smash the front window with a brick.
The teen allegedly entered the home between Avenue H and Flatlands Avenue at 9:39 am and swiped a PlayStation game console — but cops caught him as he exited the home.
Cell grab
Cops arrested a 30-year-old who they say swiped a cellphone from a man on Avenue M — then threatened to kill his victim if he reported what happened to police.
The victim was nearing E. 50th Street at 5 pm when the suspect and an accomplice stormed up to him and grabbed the Smartphone.
Investigators caught up with the suspect a short time later, charging him with robbery.
Drunk driver nab
A 25-year-old man was taken into custody on Nov. 13 after he was caught driving drunk on the Belt Parkway, police said.
Cops pulled over the suspect’s weaving 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe near the Flatbush Avenue exit at about 1:50 am.
Cell takers grabbed
Cops say two teens swiped a cellphone from another teen on Avenue J on Nov. 11, but were taken into custody before they could get away with their new gadget.
Police said that the victim was nearing Albany Avenue at 12:05 pm when the suspects grabbed the phone from his hand and ran off.
The victim chased them, but one of the teens turned and flashed a knife.
“I’m not playing,” he said. “I’m going to stab you if you keep following me.”
The victim gave up his pursuit, but called police — who caught up with the teenagers at the corner of Avenue I and E. 39th Street.
