Sticky fingers
A thief stole a woman’s laptop out of her bag while she was getting a manicure at a Bedford Avenue nail salon on March 26.
The victim told police that she was getting her nails done at a salon between N. Sixth and N. Seventh streets at 8 pm and that she left her laptop in her bag on the chair next to her.
As she collected her belongings after the pampering, she found that the laptop was gone from the bag.
I’ll hit you back
A pair of coworkers were arrested and charged with assault after allegedly getting into a physical altercation at the end of the workday on Roebling Street on March 28.
One of the victims told police that he was arguing with his coworker at a construction site near N. 10th Street at 5 pm when the coworker hit him over the head with a heavy object and then pulled out a knife and cut him on his ring finger.
But the victim was also at fault for hitting his co-worker in the face with a broomstick, officials reported. Both the 44-year-old and 39-year-old were arrested and charged with assault.
Joyride
A prankster took an excavator for a joyride inside a Kent Avenue construction site on March 15, damaging the giant tool.
The owner of a construction company working on a site between N. Third Street and Metropolitan Avenue came to work at 6:30 am to find that the excavator had been driven around. The machine was severely damaged.
Cops plan to charge the joyrider with criminal mischief if they can find him.
Ransacked
A cruel burglar ransacked a woman’s Nassau Avenue apartment on March 21, and stole her diamond rings.
The victim told police that she returned home to her apartment between Humboldt and Russell street at 6:25 pm to find her door wide open, her entire apartment a mess, and her diamond rings gone. There are no cameras in the apartment and no suspects in the case.
Anger management
An angry tenant upset about being evicted kicked in the front door of his Van Dam Street apartment on March 27, police charge.
The owner of the building between Nassau and Meeker avenues told police he saw the tenant kick in the door at noon, an hour after city marshalls showed up to remove the tenant. The man has not been arrested yet but he is wanted for burglary.
Gone like lightning
An athletic thief ran off with two electric delivery bicycles that were locked to an iron gate in front of a N. Fifth Street restaurant on March 21.
The owner of the restaurant between Bedford Avenue and Berry Street told police that when the delivery man went outside to get the bikes at 5:05 pm, he found the bikes’ chains and locks all missing.
