The Metropolitan Jewish Hospice will be holding summer training sessions for new volunteers in August.
Volunteers must be dependable, compassionate and willing to serve as friendly visitors in patients’ homes and inpatient care facilities in the greater New York area.
Opportunities include providing valuable companionship and advocacy, running errands, assisting with pediatric and adult bereavement services or administrative support.
The sessions are August 10 and 17 from 6-8:30 p.m. at MJH, 6323 Seventh Avenue, third floor.
To receive an application and for more information, contact volunteer coordinator, Vanessa Joseph at 718-491-7139 or vjoseph@mjhs.org.
