Last week I offered some of the best quotes of 2010. In the interest of space I pared my list down and am now looking at several more that I deleted which are informative, entertaining, and sure to stimulate conversation when it slows down at your next cocktail party. Let’s start with an easy one for those of us who are grandparents:
“Grandchildren are God’s reward for not killing our own.”
Here’s one you can’t argue with because, “We’re not talking about the legality of building the mosque. We’re talking about insensitivity, lack of compassion and consideration, arrogance…”
O’Reilly weighed in by stating, “You don’t build a Benihana at Pearl Harbor.” I can hear my president asking, “Why not?”
You might want to argue with, “Barack Obama is the worst president in history.” Maybe he’s not the worst, but enough voters agreed with the man who said it that they tossed out a Democrat incumbent to elect him to the House of Representatives. Besides – can anybody be worse than Carter?
Another right-wing newcomer shouted, “We’ve come to take our government back.” He was also elected.
And on election night, the beautiful, electrifying, extremely intelligent gal with a dynamic, promising political future told Chris Matthews, “I think people are thrilling tonight. I imagine that thrill is maybe not quite so tingly on your leg anymore.”

In a recent column about President Obama’s angry speech that was delivered after the compromise, Peggy Noonan said, “In politics, the angry person is generally understood to be the loser, which is why politicians on TV always try not to seem angry.”
Her comments about the president could just as easily been directed to our own Anthony Weiner. Several months ago, the congressman could not respond to a Bill O’Reilly’s question. With a dumb puss on his face, he looked away and pouted like a loser. Then, in July, after not getting a particular bill passed, he “went on an apoplectic rant on the house floor.” He focused his anger in the direction of the Republicans — and Rep. Peter King in particular. Right or wrong, Weiner looked like a loser.
After President Obama compromised with the right on the tax bill, we saw clip after clip on every channel of Anthony Weiner’s fuming frowns of frustration.He looked like a loser. In explaining his position to Joy Behar, he whined, complained, grumbled and griped and, … here comes that L word again.
And when he was invited on FOX to debate Megan Kelly, instead of answering her questions, he attempted to answer questions that were not asked. The beautiful, extremely intelligent Ms. Kelly was not falling for Weiner’s BS.
His anger was accompanied with a few smart aleck comments that made him look like …
EVERYBODY! — ALL TOGETHER NOW! — A LOSER!
Obviously someone tipped Anthony off. Last night, on the Huckabee show, his demeanor changed. The man smiled, spoke sense, and even permitted the host the opportunity to debate the topic. Even though he was on the losing side of the bill, Rep. Anthony Weiner smirked like a winner.

Here’s one of my favorites: “In dealing with terrorists, our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, not lawyers to defend them.”
This quote did more than stimulate conversation. It almost started a fistfight.
