Mormons volunteer to sweep McCarren Pk

Approximately 70 young adults and their leaders from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the tri-state area will gather at McCarren Park in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, September 12. The Mormon volunteer group will work to beautify one of Brooklyn’s oldest and busiest parks, but also one of the most “in need,” according to Brooklyn City parks officials.

Volunteers will be cleaning, painting, gardening, repairing, and refurbishing. The work group will don the signature bright yellow vests of Mormon service projects, which bear the trademark symbol of Mormon Helping Hands.
