Throw down
A vicious thief attacked a man for his belongings while he was walking down Eighth Street on Sept. 29.
The 26-year-old victim told police he was between Fifth and Sixth avenues at 11:10 pm when a man ran up to him from behind and put him in a chokehold. The perp then demanded that the victim give him his cellphone and wallet.
“Don’t make me reach in to my back pocket,” said the mugger as the victim struggled to get out his wallet.
The perp then threw the victim down on the ground and told him to count to 30 and not look up. The delinquent, who fled towards Sixth Avenue, got away with the man’s iPhone 5, wallet, and debit and credit cards.
Now you see it
A sly bandit slipped a woman’s wallet out of her purse while she was shopping inside an Atlantic Avenue department store on Oct. 3.
The 39-year-old victim told police that she was perusing the racks at the clothing store near Flatbush Avenue at 7 pm. About 30 minutes later she turned around to pick up a dress, and at that moment she noticed that her wallet was missing from her handbag that was in her shopping cart.
The crook got away with $1,300, her Argentina passport, credit cards, driver’s license, and other important documents.
MyPhone
An aggressive miscreant mugged a woman for her iPhone 5 while she was walking along 10th Street on Oct. 1.
The 24-year-old victim told cops that the crook ran up to her from behind and put his arm around her neck while she was walking home from work near Sixth Avenue at 7:25 pm.
“Give me your cellphone and don’t turn around or I swear to God,” said the perp, according to a police report.
The thief then snatched the cellular device out of the woman’s hand and fled towards Sixth Avenue.
Shattered
A crook broke into a man’s car that he left parked on Pacific Street and looted a bunch of items on Oct. 1.
The 42-year-old man told police that he parked his white Nissan on the street between Sixth and Carlton avenues at 6:30 am. When he returned about two hours later he noticed that his ride’s front passenger-side window was smashed in and his backpack, debit and credit cards, Kindle, assortment of hand tools, and cellphone were missing.
Unwanted escort
A criminal snatched a woman’s iPhone 5 from her hand as she was walking on Berkeley Place on Oct. 1.
The 27-year-old victim told cops that the offender followed her on Union Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues after she got off the train. When she got to Berkeley Place between Fifth and Sixth avenues at 5:15 pm, the perp grabbed the cellphone out of her hand as she was talking on it and fled towards Fifth Avenue, according to a police report.
Close but no cigar
Cops cuffed a 56-year-old man who allegedly broke into a Sixth Avenue eatery and stole about $300 and other items on Oct. 2.
Authorities said that the perp got into the restaurant near Saint Marks Place through the basement cellar door at 5:45 pm. The suspect — who faces a burglary charge — got away with the cash, a backpack full of men’s clothing, and an iPod.
Work day gone wrong
A lawbreaker stole a company van that was left parked on Wyckoff Street sometime overnight on Sept. 30.
An employee at the company told cops that he parked the blue Ford on the street between Nevins Street and Third Avenue on Sept. 30 at 6:30 pm. When he returned the next day at 6:30 pm, he noticed that the vehicle — which contained a camera, 10 window frames, a navigation system, and other tools — was missing.
The employee told police that he lost the keys to the ignition.
