Multimedia concert makes world premiere at St. Ann’s

In the years they spent playing dive rock clubs in Los Angeles, Stew and Heidi Rodewald never dreamed of having a musical on Broadway, much less having that show (“Passing Strange”) garner seven Tony nominations, win a Tony Award and become the subject of a Spike Lee film.

By the time “Passing Strange” opened on the Great White Way, they realized how strange it was for them to be at the center of a wildly successful commercial theater production. Stew and Heidi’s new work, “Making It,” is about their extraordinary trajectory.

The multimedia concert, devised by Stew and Heidi and conducted by Stew, features a cycle of new songs with set and video design by Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg. “Making It” makes its world premiere at St. Ann’s Warehouse, February 17-22 at 8 p.m. with a February 21, 7 p.m. curtain.

Tickets are $42-$75; visit www.stannswarehouse.org and call 718-254-8779. St. Ann’s Warehouse is at 38 Water Street in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn.
