New faces and old friends change places on Community Board 10

It was time for goodbyes, and hellos, at Community Board 10’s June meeting, where the board’s four new members were introduced, and two retiring members were honored for their service to the board.

The new board members are Liz Amato, Siti Cheng, Ann Falutico and Michael Quinones. The two members who completed service to the board this year are Mary Nilsen and Tim Cross.

CB 10 Chair Dean Rasinya welcomed the new board members during the meeting held in the community room at Shore Hill, 9000 Shore Road, and took the time to recognize Nilsen and Cross for their efforts on behalf of the community.

“The community could not have been better represented than by having people like Tim and Mary on the board,” Rasinya told the crowd.

As for the new members coming on, Rasinya noted that, “Each of our new board members brings with them a wealth of knowledge and experiences that will serve our board well.”

Each of the city’s 59 community boards has 50 members, who serve two−year terms as volunteers. Half of the board members are appointed by the borough president; the other half are appointed by the city councilmember or councilmembers who represent the area.
