New York City Health + Hospitals / Jacobi in the Bronx

Breast cancer patients at Jacobi Medical Center are often those most in need of care with the least ability to pay for services, but they can still expect optimum care close to home at the American College of Surgeons’ accredited Bronx hospital, said the director of the Breast Health Center.

“It is our mission to provide every woman faced with breast health concerns the respect and the highest quality of breast care services,” said Dr. Maria Castaldi, whose facility oversees more than 8,000 mammograms annually to support early detection of the life-threatening disease.

Breast and plastic surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, and breast imagers — all experts in the care of breast disease — offer a full complement of medical and surgical interventions, including:

• State-of-the-art services.

• Multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options.

• Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatments.

• A patient navigation program to guide patients through all phases of care.

• SHARE support groups providing valuable emotional support.
