Left for dead
In one of the first crimes of the year, a man was stabbed repeatedly near the corner of Clinton and Greene avenues in the early morning of Jan. 1.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, had been stabbed in the face and body, and was lucky that a passerby soon discovered him.
Paramedics took him Kings County Hospital at 4:50 am, and the man is not expected to die, according to police.
Six-shooter
A 22-year-old man was shot repeatedly on St. Edwards Street in broad daylight on Dec. 31.
It’s unclear what preceded the burst of gunfire, but the victim was struck in the arm, legs and stomach by six bullets at 12:20 pm between Park and Myrtle avenues.
Headshot
Police arrested a 17-year-old punk who bashed a 63-year-old man in the head the corner of Carlton and Myrtle avenues on Dec. 29.
The victim told police that the teen, accompanied by two other fellers, twice struck him in the head with a handgun at 12:15 am. The brute then took the gent’s wallet, which contained $100. The money was not recovered.
Cutup
A stranger slashed a man’s face from his ear to his mouth with a box cutter on Myrtle Avenue on Dec. 30.
The 38-year-old victim told police he did not know why the slasher cut him at 7:50 pm between Adelphi Street and Carlton Avenue.
Ding dong
A pack of hooligans mugged a man on his front steps on St. James Place on Dec. 26.
The vandals swarmed the 23-year-old victim at 10:30 pm between Gates Avenue and Fulton Street. One voice out of the gang threatened, “If you don’t want to get shot, give us everything in your pockets.”
The young man, not interested acquiring a taste for hot lead, surrendered his phone and wallet, containing $15.
Foiled!
A woman fended off a mugger on DeKalb Avenue on Jan. 2.
The man sneaked from behind and hit the woman in the face at 10:50 pm. He tried to steal the 49-year-old victim’s bag, but couldn’t wrest it from the resilient lady between Washington Park and South Oxford Street.
Xmas jeer
Burglars looted at least two homes that were empty while the residents were vacationing over the holidays:
• In an incident on Vanderbilt Avenue, a 29-year-old man and his wife were away from Dec. 20 through Jan. 3. When they returned to their apartment between Willoughby and DeKalb avenues, the husband discovered that an LCD television, laptop, digital camera, jewelry and a fountain pen from Tiffany’s were gone.
• A woman who was away from her Clermont Avenue home from Dec. 18 to Jan. 3 told police that intruders stole $250 and a digital camera from her apartment between DeKalb and Lafayette avenues.
