Greedy for more
A man was arrested when demanded money from a woman on Ralph Avenue on May 17 — and kicked her several times in the head when she refused, police reported.
The victim said she was near E. 76th Street 2 am when the man asked for money. She gave the man some cash, but he then reached in her pocket and demanded more, she told cops. When the victim refused, the man struck her with an unknown object, knocking her to the ground, where he kicked her several times in the head and fled the scene, police reported.
The victim suffered lacerations to her head and lip, along with swelling of her head that required medical attention.
The suspect faces charges of attempted robbery and assault.
Patience is a virtue
Police arrested a woman who they say robbed another lady at gunpoint on E. 108th Street on June 7.
The victim said she was at a residence near Stanley Avenue at 12:20 when the suspect, a custodian there, demanded money while holding what appeared to be a gun. The suspect then punched the victim with the other hand and stole $200 from her pocket before fleeing the scene, said cops.
The suspect will face charges of robbery in the first degree.
Coming clean
A man was arrested after confessing to firing a gun into the air on Jefferson Avenue on June 9.
The man said he was between Malcolm X Boulevard and Patchen Avenue at 5:05 pm when he closed his eyes and fired the gun twice while other people were around, reported police.
He further confessed that the gun fired on the street was the same one used in a robbery at the same location, for which he was arrested, police said.
