Drugs and lube
A woman was arrested for allegedly stealing over-the-counter drugs and lubricant from a Rockaway Parkway pharmacy on Oct. 21.
An employee told police that he was working security at the store between Smith Lane and Glenwood Road at 4:30 pm when he spotted the suspect putting Mucinex DM, Allegra, Zyrtec, Prilosec, nasal strips, Abreva cold sore creme, and a bottle of KY Intense arousal gel into a shopping bag, before attempting to flee without paying.
The security guard said he was able to stop the suspect before she could vanish, and recovered more than a thousand dolllars worth of illicit loot from her bag, accordingt to court documents.
Armed getaway
Police arrested a man who they say stole another man’s iPad and other valuables on Flatlands Avenue on Oct. 15.
The victim told police that he was between E. 81st and E. 82nd streets at 8:07 pm when he placed a shopping bag containing his Apple tablet — along with a cellphone, two pairs of shoes, and two airplane tickets — on the ground between his legs. As the bag lay at the victim’s feet, he claims, the suspect stole up on him, grabbed the bag off the ground, and then ran for it.
The victim saw the suspect flee down an alley, and gave chase, but stopped when he saw a bright flash and heard a gunshot. Police arrived soon after and recovered a loaded, black Beretta .40 pistol in the alley, according to court docuemnts.
Swipe and run
A man was arrested for allegedly swiping a woman’s wallet right out of her hands on E. 102nd Street back on April 23.
The victim told police that she was between Shore Parkway and Seaview Avenue at noon, where she was busy arguing with the suspect. The suspect gave up arguing and grabbed the victim’s wallet, which contained $1,000 and her Social Security card, before fleeing, cops said.
