Hel-L train
Thugs took over the L train on Nov. 7, snatching valuables from at least two straphangers on the same day before fleeing into the Montrose Avenue station. Here are the shocking details:
• A subterranean suspect yanked a gold necklace from a 15-year-old L train rider’s neck at around 1 pm.
The crook grabbed the girl’s chain and cross pendant as the Manhattan-bound train pulled into the Montrose Avenue station
• A mugger snatched an iPod from a 22-year-old woman’s grasp on a Canarsie-bound train at around 7:50 pm. The crook — who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt — grabbed the fancy MP3 player and dashed out of the subway as the train pulled into the station, which is at the corner of Montrose and Bushwick avenues.
Ol’ time crime
A cruel crook stole $10,500 from an 82 year-old woman on Nov. 5 — and the culprit might have been a home health aid who was supposed to be caring for the Manhattan Avenue senior!
The thief snatched the cash from five envelopes in a vault in the victim’s home at around 1 pm — when only the victim and her caretaker were in the house, which is between Seigel and McKibben streets.
The crook was able to open the safe because the key was still in the lock, cops said.
Pinned down
Three crooks mugged a 25-year-old man as he walked home from the train on Nov. 7.
The thugs shoved the victim and pinned him to the ground at the corner of Manhattan Avenue and Meserole Street at around 12:30 am, while one of the thieves pilfered his pockets.
The crooks escape with the victim’s wallet, which contained $60, IDs, credit cards and a Metrocard.
