Right out of the car
Three baddies took advantage of car owners forgetting to close their vehicles’ doors in separate incidents on Aug. 28 and 29.
• A crook rummaged through the trunk of a vehicle parked near Court and Pacific streets.
The bandit took off with a MacBook Pro and adapter, a pair of Rag and Bone jeans, a white T-shirt, a pair of sneakers, Zara perfume, a North Face backpack, a pair of glasses, sweatpants, a book, and laundry from the 2015 Nissan Versa’s trunk at 3:20 pm, according to authorities.
• A lawbreaker lifted a bunch of items from a guy’s car parked on Strong Place, police said.
The guy was unloading stuff from his blue German luxury car between Degraw and Kane Streets at 11:30 pm and left the hatchback open, police said. A good-for-nothing came by and took a Patagonia backpack, passport, Bank of New York checkbooks, an iPad air and its cover, and two work identification cards, according to authorities.
• A rogue swiped a guy’s work identification card from his car parked on Henry Street on Aug. 29, police said.
The victim told police he left the door of his 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee open then left it between Warren and Baltic streets from 6:30 am until 7 am. His car was not damaged, according to authorities.
Under investigation
Police are searching for two lowlifes who they say shot two teens on Court Street on Aug. 28.
The villains first fired a round at an 18-year-old’s right foot, and then at a second 19-year-old guy in his left leg near Third Place at 5:14 am, police said. Emergency responders transported both victims to Lutheran Medical Center.
Bad patron
A 22-year-old scofflaw swiped a wad of cash from a restaurant on Columbia Street on Aug. 27, police said.
The nogoodnik entered the restaurant between Degraw and Sackett streets at 1:29 pm and took $1,089, according to authorities. The punk is known to the restaurant, police said.
Five minutes later
A knave stole a guy’s bike from outside a Columbia Street store on Aug. 25, police said.
The victim told cops he left his Papillionaire dark green bike outside the business between Degraw and Sackett streets at 7:10 pm while he went inside, and when he went back out five minutes later, it was gone.
