To The Editor:
I have lived in a rent-stabilized apartment for over 30 years in Sheepshead Bay.
I just got my two-year lease renewal, and instead of getting an 8.5% rent increase, I am getting an increase of $85, which is a 12% increase. This is outrageous.
How did the Rent Stabilization Board get-away with this? People, like myself, on fixed-incomes are struggling.
I put the blame squarely on Mayor Bloomberg and his cronies, who are all in the real-estate business.
I hope the next mayor is more sympathetic to the middle class.
