P.S. 208 tackles the mechanics of science

How does the temperature of a golf ball affect its bounce? Is water sweeter than saccharine? Do germs really grow on surfaces?

These mind teasers and others were up for perusal when stellar students presented a science fair at Public School 208, East 48th Street and Avenue D.

The scientific showcase revealed answers to a cornucopia of brain-bogglers, including the best conditions for plant growth, the lowdown on magnetic attractions and the mysteries of gas volumes.

Students unveiled their findings with exhibits accompanied by oral presentations.
