P.S. 255 salutes stellar class of kids

Public School 255’s best and brightest young scholars were presented with “Student of the Month” honors for all their hard work, excellent attendance and showing unmitigated kindness towards others.

The designation, presented to a first-rate group of students every month, earns each selectee the coveted honor of wearing a fancy school sash throughout the day. The children are also presented with brand new pencils, with which they may produce more of the excellent work for which they have earned the “Student of the Month” honor in the first place.

Project Arts Liaison Miriam Rankin inaugurated the monthly initiative as a way of recognizing all of the young learners in grades K through five at PS 255, 1866 East 17th Street and Avenue R.

According to PS 255 Principal Linda L. Singer, “It is a real honor to be chosen…they live up to the goals and objectives of the school.”

“We aim for the stars,” she continued, “and our Students of the Month shine upon all of us. These students are proud of themselves and we are even prouder of all of their accomplishments.”
