P.S. 261 brings its favorite storybook characters to life

Spooktastic Public School 261 students received an A-plus for creativity when they hailed the year’s zaniest day with a literacy parade.

Dressed as their favorite storybook characters, and led by their parents, youngsters strolled around the school, 314 Pacific Street, to celebrate Halloween and National Book Month.

Teachers and artists worked with students to help them identify literary characters and make their own costumes.

The literacy parade was the brainchild of Librarian Danielle Taylor Brocco.
