Dyker Heights is ahead of the rest when it comes to showing its true colors.
Patriots transformed the streets into a pulsating river of red, white and blue as Fourth of July celebrations got underway along 13th Avenue with a pre−holiday march to mark the nation’s 233rd birthday.
A helm of loval notables, including Grand Marshal Jerry Cardinal and honorees Msgr. Ronald Marino and Thomas Neve, helped step off the 104th annual Brooklyn Independence Day Parade at 66th Street, leading a jubilant flock of flag−waving residents, youth and senior groups, and other proud Americans to the Archbishop John Hughes Council at 86th Street for culminating rites.
The trek was followed by the Greater Bay Ridge 4th of July Picnic at the 68th Precinct Baseball Field, 83rd Street and Shore Road, featuring a benefit concert by local talent for the 68th Precinct Baseball League, CERT1NYC and BRAVO.
