An SUV plowed into a pedestrian on Eighth Avenue during the morning rush on Monday, sending the 57-year-old man high into the air, witnesses said.

The driver of the Toyota Sequoia remained at the scene while EMS workers transported the victim to Lutheran Medical Center in Sunset Park in critical condition.

His name was not released by the NYPD.

The accident occurred at 8:11 am near the corner of Carroll Street, just one block from the spot where cyclist Jonathan Millstein was run down and killed last year.

Residents of Park Slope have long complained that Eighth Avenue — the only northbound one-way street in the neighborhood — has become a speeding-car-filled conduit from the Prospect Expressway to Flatbush Avenue. Last year, residents asked the city to consider changing the street to two-way traffic.
