Ping Chong’s Undesirable Elements

BRIC Arts and Media continues its BRICstudio 2008 spring season of performances, running to June 4.

651 Arts: The Mississippi Delta Heritage Project presents Ping Chong & Company with the Undesirable Elements Project, May 28-29 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12. Closing out the season is Dianne Mcintyre and Olu Dara with Front Porch Lies and Other Conversations, June 3-4 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Ping Chong’s “Undesirable Elements Project” is part of an ongoing series of oral history theater works designed to help communities confront and overcome cultural insularity by encouraging a greater understanding of the commonalities that bind us all.

This latest installment showcases or features the diverse voices of those who derive their roots from the Mississippi Delta.

From June 3-4, celebrated choreographer Dianne McIntyre and legendary musician Olu Dara will present a work-in-progress showing of their newest collaboration examining the Delta culture in a series of colorful vignettes.
