Playoff
The Brooklyn Papers / Gary Thomas

At least one affiliate of New York’s National League organization will be making the playoffs this year.

Cyclones playoff tickets go on sale Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3 at 9 am and will be sold ONLY at the Keyspan Park box office. Prices will not increase from the regular season range of $5 to $10. Fans will be limited to six tickets per person per game.

In the New York-Penn League, both playoff series are best-of-three contests.

Should they maintain their lead, the Cyclones will first compete for the McNamara Division championship against the second place finisher (as of presstime, the Staten Island Yankees).

The series will open on the road Thursday, Sept. 6, but games 2 and game 3 (if necessary) will be at Keyspan Park on Sept. 7 and Sept. 8.

Assuming a Cyclones win (why not, right?), the team will begin the league championship by traveling to the winner of the Pinckney Division playoff. The game will be played on either Sept. 9 or Sept. 10, depending on whether either division series goes the full three games. After a day off for travel, the championship series will return to Brooklyn for game 2 and game 3 (if necessary).
