Plaza plunder

Two thugs robbed a woman of $5,000 on June 30 in Cadman Plaza.

The victim told police that she was approached by two men at 1:15 pm at the corner of Cadman Plaza West and Tillary Street, and one of them said, “Give me what you have.”

Before she could do so, the two men grabbed her by the wrists and took the cash from her purse.

Back and forth

A woman’s purse was stolen on June 29 while she was shopping at a store on Elm Place.

She told police the thief stole her purse at 4:30 pm while she was shopping between Livingston and Fulton streets. The quick-witted victim confronted the thief and demanded her purse back. The even more quick-witted thief returned the bag, but the victim later realized her credit cards were gone.

Sticky fingers

A Native American woman’s purse was stolen while she was at work on Joralemon Street on June 29.

The victim told police that she had put down her bag at 2:30 pm on a counter in the building, which is between Adams and Court streets. By the time she returned several hours later, someone had taken her purse, which contained her passport, several signed checks, and other important documents.

Jewel thief

A young thief stole $7,199 in jewelry from Gallery Jewelers on Fulton Street on July 2.

The store owner told police that the thief walked into the store, which is between Hoyt and Bond streets, at 2:15 pm and asked to see a 10-karat gold chain and a 14-karat gold Jesus charm.

He then grabbed the bling and ran out.
