Shooter found
Police have arrested a suspect in the recent shooting death of a Canarsie resident at Sheepshead/Nostrand Houses.
Investigators from the 61st Precinct said that Thyeem Mason, 19, who lives at the housing project bordered by Nostrand Avenue, Bragg Street and Avenues X and V, allegedly opened fire on two men as they walked through a parking lot outside 3573 Nostrand Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on July 25.
One of the men, identified as 20-year-old Canarsie resident George Xavier, was shot through the back of the head. The bullet, sources said, went through his mouth.
He was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center where he died of his injuries on July 29.
A second man, believed to be a resident of the housing project, was shot the shoulder. He turned up needing medical attention a short time later at Kings County Hospital.
After a week-long investigation, cops connected the shooting to Mason, who was charged with murder in the second degree, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Cops did not disclose why Mason had allegedly opened fire on the two men.
Police said that they were still investigating a second shooting in the Sheepshead/Nostrand Houses that weekend.
Police said that at 3:20 a.m. the morning after Mason allegedly opened fire on his two victims, a 20-year-old Avenue W man was shot behind 2356 Bragg Street.
The victim was shot in the left arm and was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Killed on Parkway
An unidentified man – believed to be homeless – was killed early Saturday when he made a dangerous nighttime dash along the Belt Parkway.
Police said that the victim, who is believed to be in his 50s, was crossing the westbound lanes near the Cropsey Avenue exit at 1:30 a.m. on August 2 when a 2006 Mercury ran into him.
The victim died at the scene.

Flopper stopper
Two men were arrested for allegedly breaking into and then squatting at a 49-year-old’s Gerritsen Beach home while he spent the better part of six weeks in the hospital.
The victim, a resident of Beacon Court, told police that he had been under a doctor’s care at the hospital between June 18 and last weekend.
When he returned home on August 2, he discovered that someone had broken in through a side door and taken a laptop computer and a car stereo.
Adding insult to injury, the thieves allegedly decided to make his home a new hangout spot, leaving an assortment of beer bottles, cigarettes and pizza boxes behind from their last flop-over, cops were told.
Neighbors said that four white males in their 20s were seen leaving the house when the homeowner was away at the hospital.
After a brief investigation, cops identified 25-year-old Wesley Rhodius and 27-year-old Andy Acevedo as two of the men allegedly involved in the break-in, charging them with burglary.
Looking for Josh
Two gunmen raided a 16th Avenue home last week after claiming they were looking for a friend named Josh.
A 43-year-old tenant in the home, located on 16th Avenue near 86th Street, said that the two suspects showed up on the night of July 26, asking about their phantom friend.
When the victim said that no Josh lived in the home, the suspects pulled guns, forced their way inside and ransacked his roommate’s room, cops from the 62nd Precinct were told.
The two thieves fled with $980 in cash, leaving the victim unharmed.
Police were still looking for the suspects as this paper went to press.
