Dirty dancing
Police arrested a man for waking up a sleeping woman, dragging her out of bed, and choking her in her Bay Parkway apartment on May 2.
The woman told police that she was sleeping in her home between 73rd and 74th streets when her drunk roommate woke her up at 3:30 am to dance with him. But when the woman waved him off he flew into a furry and dragged her out of bed by her hair, struck her in the head, and squeezed her throat, said police.
The terrified woman locked herself in the bathroom and called police, officials said.
Machete menace
Cops cuffed a man who they say attacked a guy with a machete on W. Sixth Street on May 3.
The victim told police the pair got into an argument between Avenues O and P just after midnight when the machete-wielding man threatened to chop him up with the blade. The man eventually slashed the victim’s elbow with the cleaver, according to a police report.
Emergency responders took the victim to Maimonides Hospital and police on the scene arrested the man, officials said.
Vicious cad
Officers nabbed a man for brutally beating his ex-girlfriend on 63rd Street on May 7.
The woman told police she was walking between 17th and 18th avenues at 4:30 am when her old flame approached her and the pair got into an argument. The dispute escalated when the man began punching her in the head and strangled her to the point where the woman blacked out for a few seconds, according to a police report.
The woman was taken to Lutheran Medical Center for treatment, and she was able to tell police where to find the man, authorities said.
Chokehold
Police arrested a man for throttling a woman on 64th Street on May 5.
The woman told police the man grabbed her between 20th and 21st avenues at 11 pm. He lunged for the woman’s throat and squeezed her by the neck so hard that he left visible bruises when officers arrived, according to a police report.
Razor blade baddie
Authorities cuffed a would-be robber who they say grabbed armfuls of razor blades from a Kings Highway drugstore on May 7.
The pharmacy’s clerk told police that the man grabbed the gear and ran out, but when he was stopped by staff in front of the store the man claimed he had a gun and simulated a firearm through his clothes. That didn’t stop brave storekeepers who tussled with the man, resulting in a few scrapes and bruises, said police.
An officer on the scene arrested the thief, officials said.
