Cops cuffed a Utica Avenue restaurant employee who they say was caught stealing a debit card on Sept. 9.
Police say the 22-year-old suspect was working the fast-food eatery’s drive-thru near Avenue H around 10:49 am, and was seen on video taking a debit card from a customer, and covering it with a napkin after placing it near the register. The stolen card was never returned, and the owner of the bank card filed a complaint against the restaurant.
Authorities busted the suspect on Sept. 12, and say she used the card make three other purchases, according to the police report.
Wallet lifted
A bandit lifted a wallet from Flatbush Avenue pharmacy counter on Sept. 10.
The 71-year victim told police that she was at the location near Fillmore Avenue around 2 pm when she left her purse on the store counter to place her shopping cart items in her vehicle. When she got back to the store it was gone, according to the report.
Left with half
A nogoodnik swiped the tires off a car parked on E. 54th Street sometime overnight on Sept. 11.
The car owner told police that he parked his vehicle on the street near Avenue N around 3 pm. The next day around 4 am, he returned to find both tires and rims on the passenger side of his vehicle removed.
Teen theft
Police arrested a 17-year-old an Avenue U department store employee for stealing clothes on Sept. 14.
Officers say the suspect was working at the store near Flatbush Avenue on Aug. 30 around 7:11 pm when he placed several items in a shopping bag and handed them off to an accomplice without checking them out, according to the report.
Easy picking
A brigand broke into a car parked at a Ralph Avenue diner’s parking lot on Sept. 16 and took a woman’s purse.
Cops say the vehicle’s owner was at the restaurant around 4:45 am when someone entered the eatery to alert customers that a red car was broken into. When the victim went outside to check, she discovered her car’s passenger-side window broken.
The victim told cops that her bag, left in plain sight on the passenger seat, was taken.
