Police say a guy beat a man to death outside a Bushwick restaurant in the early morning hours of Aug. 24, and now they’re asking for the public’s help in tracking down a third party to help them find the alleged killer.
The alleged aggressor got into a verbal spat with 42-year-old Canarsie resident Jose Guzman on Gates Avenue near Myrtle Avenue at around 4 am, police said. The quarrel then turned violent, and the alleged attacker began kicking and punching Guzman, who later died of his injuries in hospital, according to authorities.
Cops are still on the lookout for both the accused attacker and another guy who was caught talking to him on a surveillance camera.
Police have released the video, which shows the dark-haired suspect to the right of the screen, talking to a bespectacled blonde man to the left.
Police ask anyone with information about the two men to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–8477. The public can also submit tips by logging onto Crime Stoppers’ website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.crom or by texting their tips to 274637, then entering TIP577.
