Phone snatchers
Two men allegedly attacked and robbed a man and his girlfriend at Calvert Vaux Park on Aug. 29.
The two suspects approached the victims at Hunter Avenue and Bay 44 Street t 9:30 pm. One of the suspects displayed a handgun, and the other punched the man in the face and took his cellphone from his hand, according to cops. One of the suspects also snatched the woman’s purse and cellphone, cops said.
Night assault
A lout punched a man in the face, threw him to the ground, and robbed him at Brighton Eighth Street in the early hours of Aug. 31.
The victim told police that he was walking home near Neptune Avenue at 4 am when the brute approached and punched him in the face multiple times, pushed him to the ground, and grabbed his cellphone and wallet and fled.
Clubbing
Two men allegedly attacked and robbed a guy outside of a nightclub on Coney Island Avenue on Sept. 1.
The victim and the two male suspects had a dispute at the club near Brighton Beach Avenue at 4:20 am, according to police.
The three exited the bar and then the two men allegedly started punching and kicking the victim and took his wallet, cops said.
The police later recovered the wallet, but about $200 was missing, they said.
Pistol-whipped
A man pistol-whipped a woman on Mermaid Avenue on Aug. 28.
The victim told police that she got into a verbal dispute with the unknown man near W. 16th Street at 2:45 am. He then hit her on the forehead with the handle of a handgun, cutting her forehead, and fled on a bicycle, police reported.
That Escaladed quickly
A brute hit a taxi with a baseball bat and punched the driver on Stillwell Avenue on Aug. 28.
The cab driver was near Surf Avenue when the lout in a black Cadillac Escalade drove aggressively around the taxi, according to cops. When the cars drove towards Mermaid Avenue, the brute got out of his car, approached the victim with a bat, and started striking his taxi, causing damage, cops said. He then came to the victim’s window and struck him in the face, according to authorities.
Rob and run
A thief discarded a woman’s purse after removing its contents at W. 11th Street on Aug. 29.
The victim told police that the ne’er-do-well approached her while she was walking towards a train station near Avenue X at 12:42 am.
The bandit then grabbed her purse, ran into a nearby building, and threw the purse out of the window, having removed $100 that was inside, cops said.
Rogue rider
A prowler stole a man’s book bag and took off on a bicycle on the Riegelmann Boardwalk on Aug. 30.
The victim was sitting on the walk near W. 21st Street when the thief cycled by and grabbed his bag — containing his credit card, cash, and a debit card — which was on the ground next to him, and sped off towards W. 22nd Street, according to cops.
