Police are searching for a pair of men who put another man in a chokehold and stole $250 cash from him on West 17th Street on July 19.
The assault and robbery occurred between Neptune and Mermaid avenues around 11:30 pm, when one of the perps grabbed the man from behind and the other went through his pockets and stole the cash, according to the report. The perps then threw the man to the ground and fled on foot on Mermaid Avenue towards West 16th Street, police said, adding that the man received treatment for his injuries at Coney Island Hospital.
Police describe one of the perps as having a beard and tattoos on his arms and neck, and added that he was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black shirt, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers. Police did not have a description of the second man.
