Sidewalk brawl
Police arrested a 23-year-old man who they say roughed up two men who were trying to enjoy their cigarettes on S. Eighth Street on May 15.
The victims, who are brothers, told police they were smoking near Bedford Avenue at 3:24 pm when the suspect walked past them and gave them a dirty look.
“What are you looking at?” he allegedly menaced. “You keep looking at me.”
The tough guy then came back and spit at one of the victims and punched the other one in the face, police said. Suddenly, the suspect’s friends got involved and it turned into a melee, according to the report.
One victim had a cut the inside of his mouth and the other one had cut on the side of his head.
Bike-by
A stealthy robber cruised by a woman who was walking on the Williamsburg Bridge footpath and stole her iPod on May 15.
The woman told police she was walking on the footbridge at 6:50 pm when a guy suddenly biked past her and grabbed her iPod out of her hand without ever slowing down. Then he just kept on going.
Attacked for phone
A pair of thugs assaulted and robbed a woman while she was walking home from work on S. Second Street on May 14.
The 29-year-old woman told police that she was between Hooper and Hewes streets at 2:30 pm when the men grabbed her from behind, slammed her up against the wall, and grabbed the iPhone out of her hand. They then fled eastbound on S. Second toward Union Avenue.
That’s one way
A verbal dispute turned into a robbery when a vengeful ex-boyfriend allegedly stole his ex-girlfriend’s phone on Bushwick Avenue on May 14.
The victim told police she was arguing with her ex between Scholes and Meserole streets at 2 pm when she tried to call someone on her phone, so he grabbed it out of her hand and ran away.
The 30-year-old woman has not seen him since.
Headphones stolen
A punk stole a woman’s head phone as she headed out of the Morgan Avenue train station on May 14.
The woman told police she was walking up the stairs of the station between at Harrison Place and Morgan Avenue at 2:15 pm when a teenage boy stood in her way.
“Give me the stuff” he said. Then he then grabbed the ear phones off her head and ran away.
