Police: Suspect flashes fake gun at bodega clerk

Fake gun flasher

Police arrested a man for stealing wine coolers from a Mermaid Avenue bodega on Oct. 12 and aiming fake handgun at the clerk.

The victim told police that the man entered the store between W. 31st and W. 33rd streets at 1 am, grabbed the beverages, and attempted to flee without paying. When the clerk confronted the suspect, the man flashed an imitation pistol, cops reported.

Police apprehended the man a block away, said authorities.

Shooting

A goon shot a man in the neck on W. 11th Street on Oct. 14, said police.

The victim was between Avenue U and Lake Place around 9:30 pm when he was shot in the neck by the gunman, who fled on foot in an unknown direction, said police. Emergency responders took the victim to Lutheran Medical Center, according to a report.

Fleecing the sleeping

Police arrested two men who they say stole a sleeping man’s belongings on a D train at the Stillwell Avenue station on Oct. 14.

A witness told police the train was in the station between Surf and Neptune avenues at 1:10 am when he saw the men standing over the sleeping passenger and watched them place their hands in his pockets and remove his slippers, book bag, and umbrella.

Failed robbery

Cops cuffed a man who allegedly tried to steal a sleeping man’s wallet on the D train at the Stillwell Avenue station on Oct. 16.

The train was in the station between Surf and Neptune avenues at 4 am when officers spotted a man attempting to place his hands in the victim’s pocket and approached him, said authorities. When the officers tried to handcuff the man, he resisted and began flailing his arms before police finally arrested him, according to a police report.

Officials later discovered that the man had an active warrant, said authorities.

Home aid from hell

Police arrested a home aid who they say viciously beat a 70-year-old woman at Bayview Avenue on Oct. 10.

The victim’s daughter gave police video footage of the attendant hitting and kicking her mother near Neptune Avenue at around 1 pm, said police. The victim was taken to Coney Island Hospital for medical evaluation, said authorities.
