Harrowing robbery

Police arrested a guy who they say robbed a man at knifepoint on W. Third Street on June 10.

The victim said he was near Bokee Court just before 10 pm when a guy snuck up from behind him, grabbed him by the neck, and put a knife to his throat. He took $60 out of the guy’s pockets and told him to run, according to police.

Chain gang

Four marauders took a man’s necklace at gunpoint on W. 11th Street on June 11, police said.

He was between Avenues W and X just before 1 am when four guys dressed all in black jumped out of a black sedan brandishing pistols and told him to hand over everything he had.

He handed over his expensive necklace, his car keys, and his watch. The foursome fled in their car and turned on Avenue X toward Stillwell Avenue, police said.

Beach bummer

A thief stole cash as well as credit and identification cards out of a woman’s car parked on W. 20th Street on June 12 while she spent the day at the beach, police said.

The woman parked near Surf Avenue around 11 am, locked all her valuables in her trunk, and went to catch some rays. When she came back around 6 pm she saw that her front passenger-side window was smashed and her car unlocked, according to cops.

The thief got into the trunk through folding rear seats and took $80, her credit cards, and some fire department identification she had, including an official fire department emergency medical technician badge.

Steals on wheels

A cycling crook stole jewelry off an elderly man stretching out on a bench on the Boardwalk on June 8, according to a police report.

The victim was relaxing on a bench near W. 33rd Street around 8 am when the guy came up from behind on a bike and managed to grab some jewelry off him before riding off on W. 33rd Street towards Surf Avenue, cops said.
