Poly Prep bounced back in a big way.
The Blue Devils, after falling at home to DePaul Catholic, got back on the winning side with a 40–20 road victory over Cheshire Academy (Conn.) last Saturday.
Quarterback Robert Kollmer, who spent much of the season behind Salim Turner-Muhammad, compiled 220 yards of total offense and ran for a score for Poly Prep (5–2). Lamy Monti carried the ball 15 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns, and Abdoulaye Konate ran for 65 yards and a score on six carries.
Elias Reynolds made 12 tackles, including two sacks and a forced fumble. Russell Ferisi notched 10 tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown. Tegha Ehbiri returned an interception for a touchdown.
James Madison 38, Lafayette 6: Naahman Gumbs ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries for James Madison (7–1). Keenan Sylvester carried the ball eight times for 185 yards and a score, and Shamar Logan added 100 yards on the ground. Jamie Fenelous made 12 tackles, including three sacks, and Daniel Jefferson had 10 tackles, including three sacks.
Abraham Lincoln 37, Brooklyn Tech 14: Faruq Shittu went 14-for-24 passing with 208 yards and three touchdowns for Lincoln (7–1). Kevin Medy caught two as part of a three-catch, 103-yard afternoon. Jordan Jones added a touchdown grab and Anthony Khan ran for a score. Michael Marcovici threw for 167 yards and a touchdown to Pierrot Jean Charles Jr. for a score for Brooklyn Tech (2–6).
Fort Hamilton 48, Thomas Jefferson 0: Connor Fitzsimons compiled 141 yards of total offense while scoring on the ground and in the air for Fort Hamilton (6–2). Noah Solano carried the ball seven times for 57 yards and a score and Troy Booker chipped in a rushing touchdown. Seba Nekhet made three catches for 52 yards and a score and returned a kick 75 yards for a touchdown.
South Shore 25, Canarsie 0: Omar Jarrett ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries for South Shore (8–0). Quarterback Jason Martin posted 211 yards of total offense and a rushing touchdown. Palyte Stubbs ran 12 times for 65 yards.
New Utrecht 14, Susan Wagner 12: Quarterback Miquin Jenkin Davis compiled 212 yards of total offense, including two rushing scores for New Utrecht (4–4). Walid Othman caught four passes for 102 yards of Jenkin Davis’s 156 yards. Ethan Neufville made 12 tackles and recovered a fumble.
Franklin Roosevelt 27, Tilden 6: Quarterback Nadir Hassan completed two touchdown passes to Re John Williams for 100 yards for Franklin Roosevelt (6–2). Hassan also ran for 62 yards and a score. Tyjai Small added a rushing score. Running back Anthony Ford had the lone touchdown for Tilden (3–5).
Eagle Academy II 38, Far Rockaway 0: Ramell Redd carried the ball 15 times for 180 yards and a touchdown for Eagle Academy II (8–0). Du Sean Barnett completed six of eight passes for 119 yards and a touchdown each to Tisshun Williams and Marcus Martial Jr. Malcom Vinson added a rushing score.
Jamaica 34, Grady 0: Maxene Jeudy posted 75 yards of total offense for Grady (3–5). Gregory Eugene chipped in five tackles.
Franklin Lane 20, Automotive 16: Kobe Mitchell carried the ball just three times for 161 yards and a touchdown for Lane (1–7). Michael Duah returned an interception for a touchdown. Prince Clare posted 103 yards of total offense and rushing score for Automotive (0–8).
