PS 274 kids make their numbers – School “Math Night” a big plus

About 120 families came to P.S. 274, 800 Bushwick Avenue, for the Koscioszuko School’s second annual Math Night to watch their children play ring toss, bingo, and other games that touted the appeal of numbers.

Maritza Ollivierra, principal of the Koscioskuko School for the past two years, has coordinated the event to help her students get excited about math and to get families more involved in the primary school.

Students from pre-K through fifth grade participated in activities at a variety of skill levels, learning probability, counting, and fractions.

“The kids are having a great time. They don‘t even know they‘re doing math!” said Ollivierra.
